“Digital Built India focuses on bringing the best minds together to present, appreciate, promote and brainstorm. This is an NGO driven event which promises knowledge sharing and neutral learning opportunity.”

India aims to spend $1.4 Trillion building Infrastructure. Prime Minister launched Gati Shakti – National Master Plan for Multimodal Connectivity, essentially a digital platform to bring 16 Ministries including Railways and Roadways together for integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects. With the goal of developing infrastructure to lower logistic costs and improve the economy. It is estimated that India Contributes to at least 25% of the Global Digital Content Production in the Construction & allied Infrastructure Space alone. India is a preferred engineering destination for several large MNC design firms. Besides the IT & ITES service providers from India constitutes to significant share of global digital content delivery efforts.

Community Focused Global Leadership in Open BIM & Interoperable Digital Workflows

PATNERSHIP OF VALUES, PURPOSE & VISION

National Society, Community Focused, Vender Neutral, Promoting Adoption of Digital Technologies & Processes

buildingSMART India is a national level initiative of CDCPIndia in collaboration with buldingSMART International aimed at promoting the use of openBIM Standards & Interoperability across the life cycle of any build environment.

ABOUT buildingSMART INTERNATIONAL

buildingSMART is a global community of chapters, members, partners and
sponsors led by the parent body, buildingSMART International. The buildingSMART community is committed to creating and developing open digital ways of working for built asset environment. buildingSMART standards help asset owners and the entire supply chain work more efficiently and collaboratively through the entire project and asset lifecycle. buildingSMART is the worldwide authority driving the digital transformation of the built asset environment, through creation and adoption of open, international standards for infrastructure and buildings. buildingSMART provides the perfect opportunity to help industry visionaries transform the design, delivery and operation of tomorrow’s built assets. buildingSMART Is committed to driving change through the use of standards and the adoption of digital workflows. International open digital data-sharing standards are critical to this transformation, helping businesses – owners, architects, engineers, contractors and operators – become global industry leaders, while also mitigating risks, saving time, and reducing costs. buildingSMART is an open, neutral and international not-for-profit organisation.

ABOUT CDCPIndia

Founded in 2020, The Confederation of Digital Construction Practitioners (CDCPIndia) is an Indian National Society for BIM & Inclusive Digitalization. CDCPIndia is a non-government organization, a not-for profit, non-commercial, and vendor-neutral National society registered under The Societies Registration Act, 1860 and The Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. CDCPIndia has been conceived and brought to life by a group of dedicated & experienced Indian professionals from the field of digitalization of built-environment. The primary mission of CDCPIndia is to Inspire, collaborate and advance Digital processes & technologies in the Indian infrastructure and construction sector. CDCPIndia is also the India Chapter of buildingSMART International and through this initiative, they promote transparent digital transformation processes, emphasizing an open BIM culture. CDCPIndia has also evolved a strategic framework for inclusive digitalization – “The INDIA Strategy”. The philosophy of “Democratization of Data” and having “Empathy for all implementing Stakeholders” is at the core of The INDIA strategy (I-Inspiring Community, N-National Mandate, D- Democratization of Data, I – Incentivize, A – AID).

PROGRAM AGENDA

The Inauguration Ceremony will observe eminent guests from the Government, Policy Makers, International Guests of Honor and Eminent Industry Leadership. We will also be releasing the INDIA Strategy and openBIM White Paper formally.

TRACK 1 – Disruptive Digital Technologies and Its Impact on Traditional Business Processes

New technologies such as BIM, AI, Robotics, are enabling more efficient project planning, design, and execution, leading to cost savings, improved safety, and enhanced productivity. For instance, BIM allows for accurate 3D modeling and real-time collaboration, reducing errors and rework. This session will deliberate on how these tech advancements are challenging traditional methods, pushing the industry towards more integrated, data-driven approaches that enhance overall project outcomes.

TRACK 2: Digital Transformation: Risks and Mitigation Strategies

Digital transformation in the construction industry brings significant opportunities, but it also introduces risks, such as cybersecurity threats, data privacy concerns, and technology integration challenges. Data security issues can lead to data loss or project delays at the national level, while integrating new technologies with existing systems can cause disruptions. To mitigate these risks, the session will dwell upon the necessary counter measures, clear data governance policies, minimizing disruptions and enhancing overall project efficiency.

TRACK 3 – Digital Standards & Policies: Critical to Achieve Our Infrastructural & Economic Goals

Digital standards and policies are crucial for India to achieve its infrastructural and economic goals, as they provide a unified framework for efficient technology adoption and integration across sectors. By establishing clear digital guidelines, India can enhance transparency, optimize resource utilization, and attract foreign investments, accelerating its journey to becoming a $26 trillion economy.

TRACK 4 – Challenges of BIM & Digital Initiatives on Architecture & Engineering Business: Pros & Cons

This session will explore the challenges and opportunities associated with BIM and digital initiatives in the Indian AEC industry. While BIM offers significant advantages, such as improved collaboration, enhanced design accuracy, and streamlined project management, its adoption in India faces hurdles like skill gaps, lack of awareness, resistance to change from traditional practices. However, embracing these technologies can lead to better project outcomes and reduced errors.

TRACK 5 – Digital Technologies & Processes for Achieving Sustainability Goals

India is recognizing the need to develop resilient and sustainable infrastructure in the wake of rising economic losses from disasters and climate change. Digital technologies and processes play a pivotal role in helping the Indian construction industry achieve sustainability goals. BIM, Digital Twins, sensors can help in reducing the carbon footprint of construction activities. Additionally, they can improve the longevity of infrastructure and minimizing resource consumption. The session will discuss how these digital solutions support sustainable construction practices, aligning the industry with India’s broader environmental and economic sustainability objectives.
